Re: Angelo Rapa > John Joseph Rapa (Nadur, Gozo, Malta)
Okay...I think I may be figuring things out...
Angelo is your gr-grandfather? John Joseph your grandfather? Frank your father?
I have a Michele/Michael Angelo (my gr-grandfather's brother) who died in 1990 in Nevada just after turning 100. He immigrated to Michigan between 1913 and 1921. Ended up working in NY most of his life. Retired in 1957, returned to Nadur. Married twice, moved in with daughter in Nevada at age 98. He had 5 sons and one daughter...
the boys were: Joseph, Francis, Paul, John and Edward.
I think perhaps Francis is your father Frank?
I've had another email from a son of Frank's...a James Francis Rapa of Florida...is this your brother?
Help me connect the dots!

Re: Angelo Rapa > John Joseph Rapa (Nadur, Gozo, Malta)
Ok, yes this is the correct line, are you part of this line, this is the only line I know. All the brothers and one sister are still alive, my father Francis is 93, and all the brothers and one sister Helen who lives in Nevada, John who lives in Maine, Paul who lives in Brooklyn, Edward in Texas and my uncle Joe who passed in the 70's.

Re: Angelo Rapa > John Joseph Rapa (Nadur, Gozo, Malta)
The line descends from Francesco Saverio Rapa 1842-1925. He and his wife Angela Cassar had 7 children. The oldest son Paolo (Paul) is my gr-grandfather. The youngest son Michele Angelo is your gr-grandfather....
My line goes Francesco > Paolo > Alice > John > me Your line goes Francesco > Angelo > Francis > you
your father and my grandmother were cousins, my father and yours second cousins, you and I would be second cousins-once removed...Hi Cuz! :o)
I've been in touch with your Uncle John's daughter Jeanne here in Maine...sadly she lost her husband a couple years back, and we've lost touch.
I'm confused on one thing you mention...you have Angelo > John Joseph, and I don't know why? If your line is Angelo>Francis, who is the John Joseph?
I'd like to talk with you further...please email me privately - use my screen name and roadrunner -dot- com if you wouldn't mind.

Re: Surnames: Cassar, Caruana, Locano, Rapa, Sateranio, Cutajar (Tunis/Malta relatives)
Hello,
My name is Sharna Petta, I too am looking for information on the Surname "Rapa", My great Grandfather was Emmanuel William Rapa, he was born on 16th December early 1900's and was born in Gozo I think. He had some brothers, and sisters, one brother may of been named Julian, My grandmother says he left Gozo maybe when he was about 16. my grandmother was born in sydney in 1926. I have the exact date of birth somewhere is this helps, I know some of his brothers and sisters may of been priests and sisters with the Carmalight nuns. I'm travelling to Malta in October this year. Maybe be a related.. let me know if you have any more info. I live on the Gold coast, Australia.
Thank you
