An article by J. Colbach “Heffingen: Dorf- und Hauschronik in Wort und Bild” published in 2008 in Volume 2 of the 150th anniversary publication of the Heffingen church choir “Hiefenech, en Duerf – eng Par”, gives some details on the house and family histories of Heffingen. Flies house article with photo and location map is attached.

Thank you, Jean.

Does it have a photo of Flies-Reyter? It was once the home of my great-great-grandparents Henri Flies and Marguerite Wagner.

Pierre Flies-Reyter was the director of the St Cecile choir for 50 years. I believe his grandaughter, Sandy, is now.

One of their sons, Jim, lives in Heffingen - 32 Um Knaeppchen. Other sons, Paul, lives in LaRochette and Nico in Echternach.

No, sorry, don´t know either.

On the following page you can search different luxembourgian newspapers:
http://www.eluxemburgensia.lu/R/YJ234NLPB66N41D114RGID3ACP1L...

perhaps you can find an obituary or a marriage announcement, I did a quick search but only found the obituary of his mother:

Attached the requested house (taken from same book as in my previous post), where the Flies people originally married into in the year 1858. The house was transformed after 1996 and sold to a realtor, who tore everything down, and replaed it with 9 new dwelling units.

Attached are two more pictures. One of the old house I took some 25 years ago, when I was researching the Wagner family who emigrated to Rollingstone. The other one, taken in 2008, shows the new family homes built on the site.

I do not know whether the book is still available, or whether they will send it to the United States. You might want to contact Marc Linden, who was the coordinator for publishing the 2 Heffingen volumes (1 parish, 2 village).
His email is marc.linden@education.lu
