I am looking for information about Johannes (Johann) Link (~1819-Feb.5,1888) and Magdalena Zenner (Feb.2,1826 or
1829-May 21,1893). They were both born in Oberfeulen, Luxembourg and immigrated to the St. Joseph, Kossuth Co., IA area with their eight children around 1870. It is possible that the name Link evolved from Linck.

To Mr. D. Joseph Rapp.

Dear Sir,

I am a great-grandnephew to Marie Link. What information are you looking for? If I can be of assistance, I will gladly help.
Do you have any info on Dominique Linck? Thanks. Nick Link

Marie Linck married Heinrich Wagener / Wagner in Bettborn in 1834. [Per information from Jean Ensch.] They emigrated
from Luxembourg to Luxemburg, Liberty Township, Dubuque County, Iowa in 1860.

Marie Linck's brother, John Linck, had emigrated in the 1840s to Luxemburg, Iowa. Another immigrant who was with him during the same period was Peter Gaul from Pratz. John Linck's obituary stated that he was born in Oberfeulen. [Per Dyersville Commercial, 1909.]

Marie Linck Wagener / Wagner and John Linck were two children of Jacob Linck and Susanna Hitz. [Per marriage index listing from Jean Ensch.]

Marie Linck and Heinrich Wagener / Wagner were my maternal grandmother's great-grandparents.

John Linck married and had several children who then had several children. I can post the surnames of these people at a later time.

I am searching for family information on the Link/Linck family, which originated in the area of Niederfeulen and or
Oberfeulen, Luxembourg. Earliest known date is in the 1750"s, when Dominique Linck married Marie Vootz from Oberfeulen.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello,
Dominick Linck or Linckel from Bastendorf married January 1757 Maria Wootz or Vootzen born September 15th 1735 in Niederfeulen.
One of her sons Jacob Linck born 1769 in Niederfeulen married March 3rd 1802 Susanne Hitz born January 30th 1775
and died April 2nd 1850 in Oberfeulen. He is my 5 times grandfather.
I know most of the inhabitans of the Foossensfarm (home of Maria Wootz) until 1611.

Have pictures (early 1900's) of an Andy, Ed and a Ann Link guessing from my family either taken in Dubuque or St. Donatus Iowa. Would you have link's in same area.

A Jean (John) Link came to the U.S. on 3 July 1845 on board the Ship Silvanus Jenkins. The manifest says he was 27 at the time, stated he was a farmer and was from Oberfenlen (misspelled?) There is also a Theodore Linck on board with his wife Catharina and they were from Niederfeulen. You can see the transcribed manifest at the Immigrant Ship Transcribers Guild website in Volume 3.

According to my family's history, Dominique was my great-great-great-great grandfather. I have no birth date for him , but his wife was Marie Vootz. Looks like we are related. Happy to share anything I have with you.
