Malfetti of Foiana della Chiana

We are looking for info on my wife's GGF Alessandro Malfetti, b. June 1852, in Foiano to Angiolo Malfetti, b. Jun 1823 Del Carmines, and Maria Morellini, b. Sep 1829, an orphan from Spedale S. Maria, Arezzo. Angiolo's parents were Martino Malfetti, b. 1792 and Anna Malfetti b 1795. Alessandro's parents and grandfather all died in 1854 perhaps from a malaria outbreak with Angiolo listed as dying in Frat de S. Maria and Maria in S. Cecilia.
Alessandro was stationed in Lipari with the Italian army and married Marguerite Iacono from there, they had a daughter Elisabetta born in Lipari and a son born in Foiano. In 1889 the family left for New York.

I do not know the Andreini family but have been in the area of Arezzo and Foiano (where my wife's GGF came from about 5 miles south of Frasinetto). The registry office in Arezzo should be able to provide basic info as should the office in the Commune of Frasinetto. If you know the particular church the family attended you can go there. It is generally helpful to write to the offices before hand mentioning your interest and giving what info you have and what you are seeking. You should also check the military records in Arezzo since your father may have served in the Italian army (as did most everyone).Good luck. JK

Andreini FAMILY

My father was from the town of Frasinetto near Arezzo. I believe all records from that town were kept in Arezzo. My father came over in 1913 as a professor of literature to teach at what is now UCLA. I had 8 aunts living there during the war. Should I go to the church in Frassineto or where to start my travels..My father's name was Giovanni Marco Andreini and some of his sister's names were Mariucca, Beppena, and Fiorina... Thanks for your help Giovanna Stockman

I am looking for information about my ancestors from Arezzo. My grandfather Pietro Innocenti came to America in 1914. My grandmothers maiden name was Annunziata Volpi and I believe her family was from Florence. My great-grandparents were Giovanni and Abigale Innocenti. My uncle had a cousin from Arezzo that he corresponded with and visited in 1971 and his name was Rodolfo Innocenti.
I know that the name Innocenti is quite common in this region of Italy but those are all of the "clues" I have.
Grazie
