My grandfather, Giacomo Perocelli (Perucelli), came to California with his cousin Giuseppe (Joe) Guatteo in 1906. He died in July 1969. I have an Italian copy of his birth registry from the Comune di San Pietro Mosezzo stating his parents names were Giovanni Perucelli and Antonia Guatteo. I have not been able to find any documentation of his arrival here, though I did find on Joe's passport application for a return visit to Italy that they came through Antwerp, Belgium. I have since learned that the Antwerp records were destroyed in a fire.

I have some letters written in Italian and later in English from a relative in Novarra whose last name is Curini, dating from 1924, 1978, 1953 and 1988. My mother, who is now 77, and her family have always wanted to know about his family and what happened to them.
