17th Cen- GUIDAS from AVELLINO ITALY, CAMPANIA REGION??

17th Century - GUIDAS from AVELLINO ITALY, CAMPANIA REGION??

Looking for 17th century GUIDA, CAPORALE, and REPPUCCI families, (possible connection to Friscuolo, and Montano marrying into the Caporale family name, through Raphaele Caporale)

This location may be all wrong, but a somewhat fictional story was written about my ancestors, the GUIDA Family, in the 17th Century. It includes this information.....
“17th Century Italy. In the Valley of LOMBARDY PLAINS, with the background of the MONTE ROSE Mountains, in AVELLINO, A PROVINCE OF MILAN, Lived the GUIDA Family, Antonio (b.1833-?) and Maria (b.1835-1881) had two sons Michael, b. Dec. 1864, died May 24, 1939, and Alfredo, b.1868. The Guida’s also had the largest goat farm in the area.”

THE PROBLEM? Avellino is actually to the south, east of Naples, in the Capania region. The Lombardy Plains are actually in the North, East of Milan.

Looking for any information on locals, and dates for the following families:

THE GUIDAS, Antonio married Maria, had two sons Michael and Alfredo
Michael married Antoinette Caporale, and had following kids: Guisippe, Leo, Victoria Margaret...(my Grandmother) Albert aka: Benny, Anna, who married Francis Henehan, James, Helen, and Margaret.

THE CAPORALES, Guisippe (b.1842- d.1892) married Victoria (or Vittoria, maiden name REPUUCCI, (1830-d.1921))

These are their children.
(1) Antoinette (maybe Antonia)
(2) Antonio,
(3) Luigi,
(4) Raphaele, and
(5) Maria,
...but Guisippe Caporale's wife Victoria, or Vittoria,s maiden name was thought to be "REPPUCCI", so I'm trying to find as much info on this side of the family from Italy, as the other names.

* Guisippe traveling with (possible two daughters)Antonia and Maria (Mary)Caporale came from a town called Chiusano di San Domenico. (Avellino Province-Campania region, so this area would be a point of interest.)

*Also looking for info on Raffaele Caporale’s correct spouses’ names, which may be either ANGELA FRISUOLO, or SABBATINA MONTANO. Possibly their child’s name was Anna Caporale.

I do appreciate this ancestor trying to write from memory the accounts of our family travels, but this makes
things totally confusing on where to look at births, deaths, marriages, etc., of my ancestors.

Thank you for any assistance rivrratjim17@yahoo.com
Ciao,
Looking for ancestors on my mother’s side. Michael, or Michele Guida or Vida, came over on a passenger ship, maybe the ALESIA, to New York, about 1891.

My parents were Vincent John and Victoria Rose Weeder
My Mother's side>

My grandparents on my Mom's side, were Victoria Margaret Weeder, and Perley Ansell Dewey.

My Great grandparents were Michael Guida and Antoinette Caporale.

Michael's parents were Antonio Guida and Maria.
Antionettes parents were Giuseppe Caporale and Victoria (or Vittoria) Repucci (1829-1921) 92 YRS? really?

That's all I have. I do have some names that may correspond to this Guida Family and they are: Maria Giovani Caporale, parents - Raffaella, Angela, and Mattilliello.
Angela Friscuolo, Sabbatina Montano, Domencia Saliia.

Caporale's - Raphael,42 Mary,38,Emilia,11, Jenny,6, Tony,3, and John,8. Head of Household was Victoria at 67 yrs.

So I'm interested in finding out the possibility if anyone can recognize a name and help me go further, Thanks!
Hi there. You may want to contact Magali Pacchiana at m_pacchiana@hotmail.com. I have been communicating with Magali and she asked me to give you her email address. She may be able to help you. She is going to our ancestor's village on 4/23 to do research and suggested you tell her the name of Peter/Pietro Pacchiana's wife, how own date of birth, Andrew's date of birth and if you know whether Andrew and his siblings came to the US with his parents. If she has this info, she might be able to help you answer your question.

Hi Magali:
I will definitely look up your tree. Acutally, I have much more information about my father's side of the family, probably because they simply lived longer. I grew up having a Great Grandmother. My Mother's side was not so fortunate; they did not enjoy as long lives. Consequently, I'm having a much harder time learning much about them; they died when I was an infant. I live in New Jersey; not much farther from where both sides of my family settled when they came over here.
Patti

Hi Magali:
My name is Patti. I believe my Great Great Grandfather was named Narno Pacchiana and he married (I believe) someone named Giuseppina Pisani. There are so many Giuseppe's and Giovanni's throughout my family tree, it's hard to keep them straight. Since both our Pacchiana's are from the same town, I am going to see if I can find any information on yours; that could lead me to mine.
Patti
Dear P

I am afraid I am not a member of ancestry so I simply can't see your tree without having to pay.

My Aunt has built up a family tree on Ancestry I believe.
Look up under Marie-Josee Couepel, Gaetane Couepel (my mum), Christian Pacchiana born in March 1942.

My family tree is very impressive on my mother side but poorly filled on my fathers side despite the fact that research should be far more simple: the Pacchiana and the Carminatti all come from the same area in ITaly.

I would only have to spend a week there in the towns archives and I would probably get far back.

Your welcome to have a look. Let me know if you could find out more.

Which state and city do you live in ?

The Hague where the Yougoslavia tribunal is: that is where I live.

Have a good day.
Hi there.

Nice to hear from you. I live in the U.S. and I started becoming very involved in researching my ancestors a short while ago. I've made good progress but will soon find it challenging to seek information from various places in Italy. My paternal side is from Bergamo, Milan and Genoa. My maternal side is from Montefalcone Val Fortore, Vaccarizzo Albanese, and San Demetrio Corone. I'm told my great grandfather Andrea Pacchiana was a painting contractor. He came to the U.S. but returned to Italy where he died of the effects of lead poisoning in 1925. His wife, my Great Grandmother, lived 60 years longer, dying at 100 in the U.S. in 1982. My tree (Soldavini) is public if you haven't already seen it, where you'll find more info about Andrea. Unfortunately, I don't speak Italian (shame on me) but I have been reading a lot about Italian history lately. I have/have had such a great family, I wanted to learn more about each of them/my ancestors.

Regards
P Soldavini

I am a Pacchiana. My grandfather immigrated to the South of France with his parents and they came from a village near Zogno in the Province of Bergamo.
I myself visited this small village and I was amazed to see that lots of inhabitants there bear the name Pacchiana.

I speak Italian some of my family members are genealogy specialists.

I believe we have a family tree on ancestry as well.

What country do you live in ?

Regards

M Pacchiana

Has anyone heard of Pelalosso as a surname? I have a 1514, Bergamo notorial document which records the marriage of Catherina de Tasso to a Francheto Pelalosso. I am not certain if I am reading Francheto's surname correctly. Many thanks.

I am replying to my own post. Francheto's surname is spelled Pelalosso. I found the surname mentioned in a book put on the internet by Google. A courier with the surname Pelalosso is mentioned in a 1504 record, entitled "Other news on the disease of the Pope." I am wondering if this courier Pelalosso was the same person as Francheto Pelalosso who married Catherina de Tassis in 1514. It would make sense for a member of the de Tassis (Taxis) family to marry someone who was a courier. Perhaps Francheto worked for Catherina's family. He may even have been a relative. If anyone has any information on the Pelalosso family of Bergamo, please contact me. The record in the book was dated 06 October 1504, Rome, so perhaps the Pelalosso family may have lived in Rome. Many thanks.
