I am quite inexperienced when it comes to Italian research and in need of advice - I would very much appreciate any input at all. I just received a birth certificate for a great grandparent (Cesena 1888) form an Italian online service. I was hopeful this would provide clues and additional surnames. However, there is nothing listed under the mother's name in the transcribed page (not the original document -though looking at the original I also see nothing). Is this common in the case of Italian records? I am very confused. I am also not sure if the father's information (name is there) should include an exact date of birth. I believe i need the exact date to order the father's birth certificate. Can somebody give provide some advice?
Thank you very much in advance!
