Hi,
This is the first time I have had to research an italian line, so I am hoping I may be able to get some assistance here.
My husband and I have traced a line of his family back to a Joseph Sedenary in England in 1803. Information here on Ancestry suggests he was born Giussepe Sedenari or Sedinari, in around 1756 in Italy, possibly Modena or Bologna. A family story on Ancestry mentions he may have had a grandmother from Bologna. A coat of arms for Sedinari circa 18-19 century is also here on ancestry. I have found one, from the 17th century at the site where the original on is. (

Where do I begin? Is the coat of arms a sign that he was from nobility, or could anyone have one at that time? Thank you in advance for any help you are able to offer.
