My great great grandfather was John Brunn (Giuseppe Brun--a brother, one of three or four he had-- to Joseph). I now have the autobiography of Joseph, given to me by my second cousin, James Brunn of Niagara Falls, NY. And I have Joseph's census records and some other things I found in books about NYC churches and missions--I can share those with you.

I have the ship's registry that shows Christina--named Itala when she arrived--coming to NY, on her way to her father Giuseppe in Ridgeway PA (Elk County). The family, from Andreis, Italy, included her mother, Domenica Bucco, and brothers Luigi and Silvio.

I have a naturalization certificate that shows Giuseppe/John eventually did become a citizen, but that's it on him.

Luigi, my ancestor, was not sent back. Perhaps it was Silvio that happened to? No one seems to know what happened to him after his arrival here. And no one can find Domenica again, either, after she arrived. Perhaps they went back to Italy together and that is why no census here in the US shows them?

Louis/Luigi said he looked for Silvio the rest of his life and never found him again. Louis died in PA in 1941.

We do not know where either Domenica or Giuseppe is buried, or when they died, either.

Luigi Brun became Louis Brunn, married Maria Rosello (Mary Russell) and lived in Hazleton, PA: their daughter Edith had my mother Mary Lou and 3 other kids. My mom has been to the reunions and I have some photos from the one that it seems you attended--I have the video from that one, also.

We are gojng to try and go to Andreis this summer--we live overseas and are planning it for mid-June or early July. I would be happy to send any info from that trip to you.

Any info you have on that area or the John Brunn/Giuseppe Brun family--or the mystery about why no one knows where the father John, and mother, Domenica, ended up, and what happened to the brother, Silvio-- is very welcome.
