Yes the cemetery is a good place for information but the most you will get is a death date and maybe a certificate number which will give you the information you seek. Parents name including the maiden name of the mother. I can tell you that you can order the certs from the LDS cheaper than the archives in NY and if you need help with that I can advise you on them. I know they charge $2 versus $5-10 in NY but theirs are certified and if you go to the archives it is cheaper than if you order by mail. Also the LDS also has film for some communes in Italy. So far Salerno city and provence has not been filmed but is in the process of getting them some times in the next year I hope.

Transcriptions are always a problem especially I have found misspells on many of the Italian names. Mine is misspelled more than it is not.
