Mary A. Giannini, 91, 2050 Chester Blvd., Richmond, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at Reid Hospital in Richmond after a long illness.
She was born Dec. 26, 1909, in Roseto Valfortore, Italy, to Vito and Leonarda Roberto "Pappin" Pappano and had lived in Richmond since 1919.
A homemaker, she had worked at Reid Hospital and Pleasant View School. She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, John Giannini of New Castle; two daughters, Phyllis Anderson of Kansas City, Kan., and Lena Lonigro of Dayton, Ohio; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Phillip Pappin of Richmond; two sisters, Nellie Caffazzo of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Lucille Roettker of Phoenix, Ariz.; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stefano Giannini, in 1961; a daughter, Mary Louise Ramsey; and a sister, Rose Morguson.
A prayer service will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Stegall-Burheide-Orr Funeral Home in Richmond. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Richmond. Burial will be at St. Andrew's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
