Hello, my Great Great Grandfather was John GREEN and he served in Gibraltar. He was married to Julia CORNER and they had three girls (that I know of), two born in Gibraltar and one in Guernsey, Channel Islands, in between overseas postings.
His origins appear to be Irish judging by the baptismal records for the girls (at the Spanish Chapel, now St Mary the Crowned). His regiment was the 2nd Battalion 15th Regiment, East Yorkshire Infantry.
If anyone thinks they may have any information at all related to any of this, or would like information from me about this area (army family in gibraltar),please let me know! I have the birth certificates for the three girls, Mary Ann 1866, Jane 1868 and Charlotte 1870. What I don't know is where and when John Green was born though it is likely to be in Ireland as his parents, his wife and his wife's parents were all Irish.
