You'll find the 1830/1909 records for (French) Algeria at http://anom.archivesnationales.culture.gouv.fr/caomec2/reche... (but only the 1830/1904 period is indexed to search by name).

You'll find many records, click on the eye icon on the left of the line to get the corresponding record.

No result for Wolgringer but there are several for the spelling Wolkringer, including a marriage between Constant Frédéric QUOD and Joséphine WOLKRINGER in 1896 in La Chiffa.

Good luck!
Amandine

Thanks Amandine for your advice and the marriage is that of my grandparents who later migrated to Australia in 1905 and 1906. There are other family members whom I hope to trace as well who stayed in Algerie. wish me luck

Thanks
Carol

Hi there -- I'm also researching our pied-noirs roots in Mouzaiaville -- the name is Manrique and thank you Amandine for the link, I found some information! If that name sounds familiar please contact me (they came from Spain originally) and also the name Denis and Bagnuls. Thanks very much.

Lucie:
I have done much Internet research on the family name SALOM and although some came from Menorca island off of Spain to French Algeria in mid 1800's would u know the origin of that family name ?
It is said to also be Italian and Eastern European (after the Spanish Inquisition maybe)
Could u please put some light into this ? Thanks a lot !!
