Bonsoir d'Australie

Thank you so much for your reply. My wife's great great grandparents were Francois Barthelemy Ribot de Bressac and Emily Haddock ( aka McIntosh)

Francois and Emily were married in Sydney, Australia and soon after settled in New Caledonia. Francois worked as a ships Engineer, and was born in France.

As far a I know, Francois left for Indo China to work, and his wife and youngest children returned to Australia.

My wife and I have been to New Caledonia several times. When we were still at school ( aged 15 ) we went to Noumea on a school excusrion. We were involved in a bus accident at Hienghene in which 2 students were killed and also the Hotel owner's wife. Our trip was cut short, but my wife Jenny was able to meet her great Aunt Emily Antongiorgi ( sister in law of Emile and Adele Ribot de Bressac ) Aunty Emily gave my wife a photograph of her mother Emily Haddock.

Do you live in New Caledonia ? Are you descended from Charles Frere & Emilie Gaspard?

My email address is aussieplan@bigpond.com if you would like to chat some more.

A bien tot

Hello,
My name is Suellen Blackaby, nee Cremer. My grandfather was Charles August Cremer, whom I believe emigrated to Australia fron Nouvelle-Caledonie. I am travelling to the Alsace region in late September, 2012 and would like to make contact with my grandfather's relatives if possible so as to further investigate our family tree. Any help appreciated. My grateful thanks.
