I am also descendant from Antoine Boutary. My grandfather was Aurelien Sydney Bouterie from Thibodeaux., La. Were you able to find out where in France Antoine came from? Also would like to hear anything you care to share about him.

Hi, I can not tell how happy I am to find someone else interested in hits family. I do know that Antoine - the elder came from Quercy, which is an old department of Lot France. I have hit nothing but brick walls in finding more. I am unsure of the original spelling, the name varies from Boutari to Boutary to Boutairie to it's current Bouterie. I can not find any spelling close on any of the censuses of the Acadians in Acadia, or any ship's manifest, except to LA. I spoke to someone on the message board recommended but they told me without a town, they could not. I am unsure when Antoine died or is buried, St Joseph's in Thib. wasn't started until after he would have died. I have banged my head trying to get past him to no avail My email is coyle1152@gmail.com if you would like to talk more.

Alton, I have just found the actual arrivals of them at the Port of NOLA and yet another spelling. Boucari - I have never come across a C and no T. The records are written in french and it is definitely them. I also have a newspaper clipping relating to possibly Aurelian Sidney. It is just Sidney, I have had it for some time, not knowing whom to attach it to, perhaps you can help. I have come across no other Sidney Bouterie of the era

I have the following:
Antoine Boutarit (note spelling) and wife Marie deported by English from Acadia on ship du Roi l'Esturgeon 7 Jun 1763 to Liverpool, England. Settled in Chatellerault and in 1775 sent to Nantes, France. Sailed 27 Jun 1785 on ship le Saint Remi w/wife and 3 children arriving La 10 Sep 1775 and finally in NOLA 5 Dec 1785. Does this agree with what you have? Spelling I have is Boutary but this is them.
My grandfather Aurelian Sydney b 10 Mar 1886 d. 30 Sep 1955 and is buried in Bogalusa, La.
