Gordaniers, various spellings
Hi Frances:
There are a variety of spellings of the surname: Gordanier, Gordenier, Gardinier, Gardner, etc. It's hard to know which one is most likely for your family. Who was your grandfather? How far back can you track? I've been tracking Gordaniers in Canada and the US with the tremendous assistance of various members of the family. I look forward to your response. Contact me directly if you wish.

Re: Gordaniers, various spellings
SORRY IT TOOK ME SO LONG TO REPLY. I HAVE TROUBLE GETTING INTO GORDENIER MESSAGE BOARD. MY GRAND FATHER WAS GEORGE GORDENIER SON OF PETER AND MARY SWICK GORDENIER . ACCORDING TO PETERS DEATH CER. HIS FATHER WAS NICHOLAS AND MOTHER WAS NANCY. WE HAVE FOUND THAT THERE WAS A GEOGE GORDENIER WHO DIED IN CALF. AND WE THINK THAT HE HAD 2 OR MORE SISTER. THEY WERE ALL BORN IN NEW YORK . PETER WAS BORN IN 1815

Re: Gordaniers, various spellings
I am trying to link your Nicholas Gordanier (by whatever spelling) to my Gordanier clan. It seems that Nicholas is the stumbling block. I have several Nicholas' in my records, but I haven't found one married to a Nancy as yet. The search continues.
