I might shed some light on Jean-Pierre GOUZY parentage as I've found his marriage with Henriette CURTENAZ in Lyon (departement of Rhône, #69) on February 18, 1829.

Here are the main informations it contains:

Groom: Jean Pierre GOUZY (written GOUZI by the registrar but he signs himself GOUZY), born on 14 Brumaire an XI (= November 5, 1802) in Pamiers (departement of Ariège, #09), tailor, living in Lyon, rue Grenette. Legitimate and of age son of Baptiste GOUZY & Jeanne AMARDEIL, both deceased, his grandparents being also deceased.

. Bride: Henriette CURTENAZ, born on November 9, 1802 in Challonges (in Savoie, nowadays departement of Haute-Savoie, #74), also living in Lyon, rue Grenette. Of age and legitimate daughter of Pierre CURTENAZ, farmer & Françoise GUILLERMIN, deceased.

. The father of the bride agreed to this marriage by a deed recorded on January 2, 1829 at the office of Mr. DUMAREST, notary in Seyssel (departement of Ain).

. Witnesses:
1) Julien PERROTEAU, aged 30, tailor merchant, living in Lyon, rue Luiterme
2) Antoine BAVIN, aged 30, same occupation, living in Lyon, rue Sirène
3) Jean FOURNEL, aged 33, ? merchant, living Petite rue Longue
4) Jean Marie TRÉBOUVILLE, aged 26, tailor, living rue de Bessard

witnesses who all declared that it is well known the husband's grandparents are all dead and signed with him, the wife not knowing how to.

Unfortunately for you, the Ariège archives are not yet on-line (still being digitalized) and though some of Haute-Savoie are already available, Challonges is not among them. :(
