This is my grandfather who abandoned French wife living in NYC.
He met his new wife while working on assignment for Sperry's Gyroscope
In Russia between 1930 & 1932. The couple allegedly fled to France to live as husband & wife. Her name is unknown. He allegedly died from pneumonia in Gaillon, Normandy in April? 1941, about age 61. If there are any Chantemerles out there who have Russian lineage, they could be descendants of the couple. It is unknown whether they had children or if the Russian woman ever rendezvoused with my grandfather as planned - meet in Berlin after he returned to Europe from NYC. He stole my grandmother's marriage certificate to possibly pass off Russian woman as his 1st wife. From letters he wrote to his son in NYC in mid 1930s, he appears to be alone with no woman in his life. Any information is welcome.
