I absalutely agree with you for years I've been fascinated with Corsica and don't understand why it's not part of Italy, I mean they speak Italian there and the towns are all in Italian when you look on the Corsican map, and Corsica is closer to Italy as it is to France. I think a public vote should be made declaring that they wish to no longer be part of France.

Research Puerto Rican history, besides Spanish, African Americans, there is a large population of French, Corsicans and Jewish people immigrate to Puerto Rico. My great great grandfather with the last name of Catinchi came from Corsica and help cultivate coffee, there is a plaque in Yauco PR thanking the Corsicans. I found all my info on Wiki: Corsicans in Puerto Rico, French in PR and Jewish immigration to PR.

Your book is wonderful. Thanks so much for the free download. My corsican family comes from the area of Yauco and Guayanilla. I was researching one of the family names Blasini when I found this thread. The lastnames are MicheliPiacentini,Blasini Emanuelli Paoli e Irrizarri. I understand Piacentini came from Yauco but I can't find anything back from 1910. I think my dad (86) & uncle (88) went to HS in Yauco.

His death cert says his parents were both from France. Although from France, they have an Italian surname. He was living in San Francisco bay area in their early 1900's. He married a Nellie Bona from Sicily. I don't know where he was married or what place in Corsica he came from.

You're missing the point. Corisca was (and always had been) a part of Italy before it was given to France for money only. Genetically their closest to Italians from Genoa. Regarding Napolean, his family was originally from Genoa and Florence Italy. The Buonaparte family tomb lies in the Church of San Francesco in San Miniato (Florence Italy). He also changed his last name from "Buona"parte (Italian) to "Bona"parte to sound more French.

Learn the difference between there and their.

Their is a form of the possessive case of they used as an attributive adjective, before a noun: their home; their rights as citizens; their departure for Rome.

There is an adverb which means in or at that place ( opposed to here): She is there now.

I have been working on the Sisco family tree for several years now. Let me know if you are still interested, I can probably provide you with additional information regarding your (our) ancestors. By the way, are you Johnny's sister?
