Hello Isabel,

I'm three years late with my reply, my apologies. My great-grandmother Juana Battistini Y Tollinchi de Pacheco was related to Cornelia but I'm not sure what the relation is. None of Juana's siblings were named Cornelia but I found a much older woman named Cornelia Battistini who was married to a Juan E. Tollinchi Marfucci in the 1910 census (Juana was 19 and Cornelia was 53). I do not know Juana's fathers name because he died very young. Her mother's name was Antonia Tollinchi Y Caraballo de Battistini. I think Cornelia might've been Antonia's aunt or mother but I'm not certain. I'm having trouble finding records on this site from before the 1910 census. I'm sure you and I are related somehow so it's very nice to "meet" you.

So I have continued my research and Juana Battistini Tollinchi's mother (My GG Grandmother) was Antonia Tollinchi Caraballo. I think Antonia Tollinchi Caraballo and your grandfather Esteban Tollinchi Caraballo might have been siblings. Antonia was about 10 years older than your grandfather and Juana, her daughter was the eldest of her children. I found your grandfather Esteban Tollinchi Caraballo and Justina on the 1910 census (they spelled his name wrong - Estelan). I think their father was one of the 3 brothers who came from Corsica (Juan E., Esteban, Pedro Mateo). My GG Grandmother, Antonia's husband died before 1910. The census shows her being a widow and some of her children were living with one of the three Corsican brothers Juan E. Tollinchi Marficci and his wife Cornelia Battistini Mercado.
I hope all of this makes sense because it can get pretty confusing with all the misspellings and missing information. Do you know who your grandfather's parents were?

Hello Jose,
I hope this finds you in good health. My last name is Tollinchi too. I have stumbled on this site by researching about my dad's family in the hope that we (me and my sisters) can get some details that have been a bit fuzzy since we were little. Our grandfathers name was Dimas Tollinchi from Yauco too. You can imagine the surprise when I read your post. My dad pass recently, Luis Nelson Tollinchi. We were told that he never met his dad because he died when dad was a baby, so he was raised by my grandmother Mercedes Vidal. She re married to Fulgencio Im not sure his last name. The family also had a daughter who I'm named after, Rizara. Please if you recognize this names let me know. We are hoping someone can give us more information on Dimas Tollinchis side. Many thanks.... Rizara
