I was just coming to post that I'd found it too.

The message says that there was a Mr Delaplace, a dentist, living in the house before the Boulards. After them it was a Mrs Blanchetière. The German General Staff used it as a headquarters during the war.

Saint-Pierre-sur-Dives was the headquarters for General Edward Feuchtinger's 21st Panzer Division. They probably chose the house because it seems to be the biggest one with large grounds close to the town centre.

I wonder if the present owners would be willing to share some history.

Thanks, it is so interesting. I have been reading about the 21st Panzer Divison. So interesting to imagine that the Germans station theirselves at that house. I wonder if they moved my relative Rene Boulard out of the house? He lived there leading up to the war.
