Hello Ancestry community. It is a long-shot, but I'm hoping there is a chance the death records of my 4th GGP, Nicolas Schall and Salomé Foll found on the Bas-Rhin archive site might be able to be deciphered and translated, even partially... or the jist of what is written by others with better eyes and experience with old docs from Alsace.http://archives.bas-rhin.fr/detail-document/ETAT-CIVIL-C436-...
Commune = Schaffhouse-près-Seltz - Etat civil - Registre de décès An XIII - 4 E 439/8, page 4 of 6, the 2 entries on the bottom left.
I can read some words and they appear German, maybe old Alsatian? The handwriting is a challenge. Both Nicolas and Salomé's names are written in the margin as separate entries, leading me to think they both died at the same time, or within a short time of each other. I'm not sure but think the date from the French Rev calendar would make it @ Feb 1805. The name Joseph Leopoldes is mentioned for both, another branch of my family, possibly the informant?
I'll try to attach an image of the doc, but might be best viewed at the archiv-Bas-Rhin website. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you :) Kurt
