Yes, it makes one wonder why they died a few days apart. They had at least 4 children in their 20’s at the time. I had previously found Nicolaus birth record of 1752, so his listed age is a few years off. Perhaps Salome was a few years older and he fibbed? I was hoping of some mention of Salome’s parent’s names. On another doc is says she was born in Kutzenhausen but the records of the mid 1750’s there are illegible. The surname Voll does not seem to be shown on any later records in the surrounding communities.

One of their daughters married a Kerner, one of the 20 or so family names in Schaffhouse, so may be the Martin who signed the doc may have been Kerner.
Nicolaus and Salome’s son Ignace was my 3rd GGF and died at 44 yrs old in 1822 in nearby Seltz, leaving a widow with young children and pregnant with my 2nd GGM. On his death doc it almost looks like Salome’s surname is spelled Sohn, but on a couple other docs it looks more like Voll or Foll. For now gonna roll with Voll.

Thank you again for spending time translating the personal info and being able to distinguish the boilerplate from the substance and being able to read the writing of Franz. Truly generous :)
