Hello, I am seeking assistance with my research. Forgive me if I’ve written previously, I lost my emails during Hurricane Irma. Where could I look for record of 3 brothers BRAUN (Brown) from Alsace/Baden near Switzerland, born in 1750’s, immigrated to Virginia c1770. They fought for the American or British side in Revolution. Ended up in Berks,PA. Trying to find their names, where from in Germany or France, and their parentage.
1. Johann Peter BRAUN (BROWN) British (Hessian or Loyalist?) troop, POW, later worked for Geo Washington after war
b c1755 Alsace near Switzerland, imm. c 1770, d 1835 Schuylkill, PA, USA
Res. France/Germany 1755-1775, Virginia 1776-1780, Berks, PA 1780-1800, Schuylkill, 1800-1835
2. ? BRAUN (BROWN), British (Hessian or Loyalist?) soldier, fought and died in Battle of Brandywine, b c1750, imm. c 1770, d. 9/1777 Chester, PA, USA
3. ? BRAUN (BROWN) (American side?) fought for Geo Washington entire war, b c1750, imm. c 1770, d after war in USA
Here's what I can say to this point:
1 ? Braun
...2 ? Braun b: c. 1750 in Alsace/Baden near Switzerland, d: September 1777 in Chester (Delaware), Pennsylvania; British Army, Battle of Brandywine
...2 ? Braun b: c. 1750 in Alsace/Baden near Switzerland, d: Aft. 1782

I have found NO online info that is correct. None are cited. The 1739 seems well too early. Most Hessian/Rebels/Loyalists were in 20's, but some were 40's. The Average Hessian troops was 24. Also his sons Peter and Philips were born 1776/8 & daughters in 1780s. Based on the Schuylkill Co death date of 1835, I'd put Peter Sr birth in 1750's. Now the online sources (again uncited) for 1756, do not fit an immigrant in 1770s. Also Alsace, was quite ungoverned in mid-1700's, officially French but many Germans there. Back forth rule of Germans and French. And with border changing and no united Germany at this point, could possible refer to SW Baden (Lorrach area, 10 km from Haut-Rhin)
