Re: find my grandpa's family
I don't know if your information is correct about your grandfather. The only way is for me to say that I have more information then you will ever want to know about the Zinger Family of Canada, from France, immigarted to U.S. to California, now in Montana. I notice that your inquiry was made in Mar 2000. If your still interested please let me know. Lynn Jarvis

Re: find my grandpa's family
Yes would be interested. The information I have is correct. Had a professional genealogist research for me many many years ago and have now found my cousins over in Soufflenheim that I correspond with. But I know there must be more that came over. Am very willing to share. If we are not connected there are two more families here that you might be connected with.

Re: find my grandpa's family
The Zingers lived in Kitchener area and Parisville. Philip's 4 sons decided to homestead land in Swan River, Manitoba. They went and got land then one at a time went back to the states and married their sweethearts. Philip and Charlott (Blieler) Zinger went later and got a quarter of a parcel a couple of grids away from the boys--Joseph b 6 Nov 1870in Woolwich Twp, WaterlooCo., Ontario, Alexander b 8 Jan 1872, Philip Edward, b 22 May 1880 , William b 20 Oct 1876. Son Henry b 8 Apr 1874 lived in Maryhill Ontario. I am still trying to find info on Jean Zinger in Soulffheim, France.

Re: find my grandpa's family
Marlene, You are related to my husband. His uncle Earl Zinger was from the Formosa area. His folks owned a hotel there. Earl was a called the EARL OF MAGIC. He came and did a magic show for my son's boy scout troop when he was 11 or 12. When I made up the Zinger Book I sent one to his wife because he had got me started with some information on his family. Lynn

Re: find my grandpa's family
I indeed would be interested in the Zinger's. My ancestor was Joseph Zinger who came over on the ship the Exchange in 1847 with his wife Catharina (Schoeffter / Schaefter). Their daughter Euphemia and husband Mathias Schlosser and their 6 children, son Joseph, and son John.
If you have information on Alois Zinger or Chrystosimus Zinger I would be interested as well. There are several of us trying to tie in together. Are you a Zinger as well?

Re: find my grandpa's family
Hi Marlene. I believe you belong to Alois & Maria Linsner Zinger family. I do know that Alois & Chrysostimus Zinger were brothers. I belong to Joseph Zinger & Catherine (Schoeffter / Schaefter) and they came over with a daughter and her husband and their 6 children. Joseph & Catherines youngest two sons also came over. Would love to correspond. Did you know a lady Evelyn Weishaar - she was tracing the Chrysostimus Zinger family and later heard she passed away. I believe she had Zinger family in Formosa.
