Thank you for posting this information for me to find! I descend from Jacob Sitter (later changed to Seder) and Mary Kolar. Their son Isaac, had a son Ray, who married Isabel Pupard. They had 2 children, Ruth and Jim (my father). Jim married Wilma Eaker and they had 4 children: Glenn, Steve, Bill, and Linda. I am very new at this research and do not have much more info than this. However, I am living in Germany this year not far from Alsace-Lorraine. I am interested in locating the village of Zillingen you mentioned. However, I am unable to locate this name on any map. Could this have been the German name of the village when they called the region Elsass-Lothringen? I do see there is a village called Zilling in Lorraine near the boarder. Could this be it?

Hello: I am a relative also. My great great grandparents were
Jacob Sitter and Catharina Klein. I descend from Caroline Sitter (their daughter) and Jacob Bier. Their son Charles Bier, b May 06, 1888 was my grandfather. Charles Bier married Ivy Cooling August 27, 1913 in Iricanna, Alberta. One of their children, Charles Edward Bier, is my father. He was their 6th child. I am his daughter, Sharon Bier. I grew up on the Sitter/Bier homestead in Rainham Township. My parents still live there.

I have extensive family records from Niclaus Sitter but nothing prior. Please email me to share our info. thanks

Sharon

I realize no one has posted in a long time re: the Sitter line. However, if anyone out there is currently researching any Sitters (& all varied spellings), I'm interested. I have info as far back as Hyronimus Sitter who died circa 1656 in France. I'm still trying to find his wife's name and I also wonder about the spelling of the name that far back. I descend from him through Heinrich; David; Johann Georg; Theobald; Johann Nicolaus; Niclaus; Nikolaus; George; Annie.

Saw your message.......I have been away from these postings
for quite some time. Glad you put out a message. Been working on the Sitter line now for quite some time (over 10 years now).....my mother was a Sitter and I helped her out some time ago. I have extensive records of the Sitters and most of the other family names that come with it. Most of the Sitter geneology (Canadian) that is on the web in various sites comes from me. More than willing to share info. Most of the names that have been posted recently I have info on. E-mail me directly and lets share info. Can certainly help you out.

Hi Lee:

Which line do you descend from? Annie Sitter was my great great grandmother and she married a Wambaugh. That's where my line ends. It's possible much of what you have my mother has but I have yet to find the time to glean it all from her.
