I realize this is a very old post but I too am researching the Humann line from Alsace (also known as Elsass in German). Specifically, my ancestor Paul Humann and his wife Anna came from Weyer in Alsace/Elsass via Sekitsch, Hungary, to South Russia during Catherine the Great's settlement of South Russia according to the 1816 census of Peterthal colony. The colony included mostly people from the Wirttemburg Kingdom so some researchers often mistake Weyer, Germany (on the Rhine) for Weyer, Alsace - with Weyer, Alsace being the correct Weyer. Paul was born in the mid 1700s. I am continuing research to determine Paul's ancestors and Anna's family.
