Surnames: VanHaelewyn
Hello, Would anyone be able to translate the attached two documents/paragraphs for me about the VanHaelewyn family? I believe they are a marriage record and a birth record for my Great, Great Grandfather but I am not positive. I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer.
Thanks!

Hi Andrew,

A translation of these two birth records of the two brothers Henricus and Desiderius Vanhaelewijn. It is for sure not perfectly translated but the headlines are clearly to determine. As you can see these records have a simular set up.

Nr. 76 :
In the year 1882 the 15th of June at 03:00 p.m. afternoon before us Carolus Ludovicus Struyve, alderman and civil servant of the civil status of the town Zarren, district Diksmuide, province West-Flanders, appeared Aloys Vanhaelewijn, shoemaker, age 32 year, born in Staden and living in Zarren, who showed us a male child born yesterday at 09:00 p.m. of him, declarer, in his house and of his wife Clementina Degraeve, cleaner, age 26 year, born in Klerken and living in Zarren, and of which he gave the first name of Desiderius. The previous mentioned appearance and declaration is done in presence of Benonie Verbanck, carpenter, age 40 year and Celestin Grijspeerdt, secretary, age 40 year, both living in Zarren, witnesses by thedeclarer approached, which with us and the declarer signed this certificate, which is edited immediately, after reading.

Record nr. 101 :
In the year 1883 the 4th of July in the afternoon before us Ludovicus Struyve, alderman and civil servant of the civil status of the town Zarren, district Diksmuide, province West-Flanders, appeared Aloys Auguste Vanhaelewijn, shoemaker, age 33 year, born in Staden and living in Zarren, who showed us a male child born yesterday at 09:00 a.m. of him, declarer, in his house and of his wife Clementina Degraeve, cleaner, age 26 year, born in Klerken and living in Zarren, and of which he gave the first name of Henricus. The previous mentioned appearance and declaration is done in presence of Petrus Bulcke, bricklayer, age 71 year and Celestin Grijspeerdt, secretary, age 41 year, both living in Zarren, witnesses by the declarer approached, which with us and the declarer signed this certificate after reading.

Kind regards,

Hi Marc, thank you so much for this! It helped me discover my Great Grandfather had a brother but brought up a new missing piece of info I have never been able to find. I'm looking for a marriage record for the couple mentioned here, Aloysius VanHaelewyn and Clementina DeGraeve who I always thought were married on 13 Jul 1881 in Zarren. I had hoped one of these was the record. I guess I'm a little confused on the familysearch.org site as to what records are where when it comes to birth or marriage. Maybe you can help or offer some advice? If familysearch.org is the best way to go, can you possibly show me where to start?
Thanks again!
Andrew

P.S. Would you mind if I contacted you directly in the future if I have any more translations?
