I am looking for my Grandfather's family history.

He was born in Oostende in 1905 (date noted on his obituary) or 1907 (date noted on ship's manifest). He travelled with his Mother, Elisa (nee Van Thournout) and Sister, Alice aboard the SS Hannover in April 1913, from Rotterdam, Netherland to Portland, Maine, on his way to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The ship's manifest noted Elisa's Father as Wm Van Thournout and listed a friend as August Degryse. Elisa remarried in 1915 in Canada to Louis Van Roose and they had one son, Valere in 1916.

Any help you could give would be much appreciated.

My Great-grandmother, Eliza Van Thournout, born January 17, 1878 in Ghistel, was married to Auguste Constant Degryse on October 14, 1905 in Snaeskerke.

Eliza's parents were Henricus Josephus Van Thournout and Julianna-Christina Sinnaeve. Her known siblings were Leonie, Elodie, Charles, Richard, Victor, Francois, and Auguste.

My Grandfather, Henricus Augustinus Georges Degryse, was born on September 10, 1905, but I have not been able to find his place of birth. His sister, Alice Eliza Degryse was born in 1910, in Oostende.

I am looking for any information that might help me trace this part of my family and to connect with those family members.
