Re: Looking for Genot's

Your Martin Genot is quite possibly Martin Gniot, born 1 Oct 1861 in Sadki, Wyrzysk, Poznan, Poland. Parents Adalbertus Gniot and Katarzyna Smol. He had siblings who also immigrated to Connelsville, PA: Frank, Constantia (John Bieshada), and step siblings Adalbert and Joseph. Martin and Constantia spelled the name Genot, the rest moved to Chicago and still spell it Gniot. There is a lot of talk about the name being French in origin, but the Gniot family goes back to the early 1700's in the Sadki, Poland area. Take a look at FHL tape #544834 for birth of Martin. Wife's name was Josephine Lukaszewicz, and they were married 9 Oct 1886 in Sadkach, Poland, and Josephine was born 3 Mar 1866 in Odrowaz, Poland according to information from a relative in Poland. Hope this helps!

Susan

Marie Therese; Namur, Belgium 1737 Baptism

I have acquired an original baptismal record from St. Jean l' Evengeliste parish, Namur, Belgium, dated Sept. 21, 1737.
The baptized child was Marie Therese, daughter of Jean Lambert Van Jeger (serving in the Bronckhorst Regiment--Netherlands military), and Anne Christine de Thulden. Her name is Dutch in origin, and originally would have been van Thulden. I welcome your correspondence.

longer Belgian name shortened to Vinck...need correct spelling of longer version

I'm trying to do the Vinck family tree but can't go back any further than Charles Vinck, born 1824 in Voneche, Belgium. He came to Manitoba, Canada in 1890 and died in 1902. My problem is that apparently the Vinck name came about when the name was shortened from Voshnavinck. I don't think the spelling is correct because I can't find this surname anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would be interested in more information on the descendants of Jean Joseph Baudhuin, brother to Denis, if it is convenient for you.
Thanks again so much.

Ferron and Depierreux in Ernage

Maximilien Ferron and Marie Therese Depierreux were born in/around Ernage in Namur in 1816 (birth). They emigrated to the United States (Wisconsin) in April of 1856 on a ship out of Antwerp (Julia Howard).

Our family possesses no knowledge of the ancestry of these individuals, but are very interested in anyone that can be of assistance.

Kind Regards,

Fellow Searcher

I saw your posting on to Pat and Venessa. I would be interested in anyt hing you might have found out. I have a lot of research on the Venedam line. Jean Baptiste (Brutis) Venedam came from Lovan en Brabant, Belgium In the records of St Croix Church in Pomquet is the entry
L'an Jan 15, 1822 after publication of bands of marriage. Jean Baptist Fanadham, son of Antonin and Marie Julienne, native of Lovan en Brabant and living for several years in Pomquet. and Osite Roger, daughter of Madelain Broussard and François Roger
If you were able to find any info on theis family could you share it with me, it would be greatly appreciated. If I have anything you might be interested in just ask.

MomElefant@aol.com

I just saw your messaage from June2005 so maybe you have already received this info but if not:
DENIS JOSEPH BAUDHUIN, B. 09 oCT. 1816, Meux, Namur to Jean Joseph Bauduin and Marie Joseph Julienne Darte. Denis married Mary Joseph LaTour 05 Nov 1856 in Meux Namur, They had 4 children Josephine b. 13 Sept 1857. Marie Julienne, b 15 Sep 1858, Julkes Joseph (male) b. 22 Apr 1860 and Hortens b 24 Sep 1862 all in Meux. Denis Baudhuin died in Meux 19 July 1883; Mary LaTour was born in Mehaigne, Namur 29 Mar 1823 and died in 1865 probably in Meux. I do not have information on her parents. Denis apparently was one of 6 children; one brother JeanJoseph Baudhuin b. 1807 had a son of the same name who emigrated to Door County Wisconsin around 1870. I have quite a bit of data on his descendents if you are interested.
