Hi. My name is Tina. My grandpa came over from Germany when he was young but my dad doesn't know where in Germany he was from. To complicate the matter, there is the story that when he came over his last name actually was Hansen and immigration here changed it to Frantzen. but no one knows if that's really true. Anyway, I'm not sure he would be the guy your looking for but maybe they were brothers or something. My grandpa's name is George Peter Frantzen and married Myrtle Clark here in the States. If any of this sounds familiar to you can you write me? I would like to talk to you about it. Thanks.

My Great-Great-Grandparents were Peter Frantzen(b. 11/3/1835 d.4/4/1914) and Anna Wilmes(b. 5/16/1844 d. 4/16/1915). I know that the Frantzen name that I hold is from Luxembourg decent, the town I grew up in St. Donatus, IA is all primarly of Luxembourg and some German decent. I am not sure yet if they came over as children or with there parents. I am in the process of looking through the Federal Census of those years to find out. I do know that they were married in Iowa on April 4th, 1864. Hope we can correspond or at least this may help. JOEY

Re: FRANTZEN FAMILY IN LUXUMBOUG
Peter Frantzen was born in Kehlen, Luxembourg, the son of Heinrich & Maria Elisabetha (Magin). His wife, Susanna Rodius was the daughter of Nicholas & Maria Elisabetha (Kraus). I am a Kraus descendant, and descendant of others from Kehlen as well -- Hoffmann, Heiter.
