I am am looking for information on a fred/fredrick rose and his family children and great grand children he fought in the first world war 3rd Battle of Ypres at Paschendaele this is because this soldier found my great grandfather dying on the battlefield and stayed with him
untill he died and he also burried him near the woods
this german soldier sent a letter back to england to my great grandmother saying what had happened to her husband
the addresses the soldier gave were

i think he hoped that he would get a repley weather he did or not i am not sure

A very interesting story!

The RIR77 was part of the 2. Garde-Infanterie-Division. (The same division that Erich Maria Remarque briefly served in (with RIR15) during June/July 1917.)
