Hi,

My paternal Great-Grandfather and Grandfather were both named Joseph Doumont. I know that my GG immigrated from Belgium and I believe it was via Sydney NS. My grandfather died in 1969 in Nanaimo, BC. They both lived in Wellington (suburb of Nanaimo). If you see Wellington in the Vital Stats that is them. There were (still are) quite a few Doumont's in the Nanaimo/Lantzville area...Lantzville being a town just north of Nanaimo. Both grandfathers worked for the railroad, as well as my father, Donald Doumont who is still alive. I spoke to my dad last night and his recollection of the names of all the uncles/cousins is a bit scattered. I know that my GG's wife was Philomene Doumont. Our cemetery here in Nanaimo has a bunch of Doumonts, Morris, Francis (Francois), Valentine..some others I will go look take a pic and upload :)
