I am looking for an ancestor that was originally from Ghent Belgium, and need assistance in discovering more information regarding his family. I have been unable to locate who his parents are and only know that as of the age of 12 he was an orphan and living with his uncle. He ran away from his uncle at age 12 and boarded a ship as a cabin boy to pay for his way to the United States.

The name I have for him is Frederick or Frederic DuJardin b. 1837 and d. 1899 in San Francisco, California. He married in a Sarah Lucretia Price.
