That should be Ferdinand and Philomena VanVooren and their children. These are my great great grandparents, and I should be able to help you.

Johanna Marie VanVooren born to Bernadus VanVooren and Johanna Maria De Mey. Is this the same family as Ferdinand and Philomena VanVooren? Hope so. Waiting to hearing from you.

I am researching some VanVooren's who came over from the East Flanders Belgium area to the United States in 1869. I am aware that this is a very early immigration for someone from this area, as most VanVooren's left in the late 1800s or early 1900s.
His name was Johannes Franciscus VanVooren. I know very little past this, except he married Mary DePauw in either Holland or Belgium. They had one daughter, Sophia before immigrating.
Also a side note, I have been to Belgium, as my relatives hail from East Flanders. I noticed in some previous posts there is note of a town Caprik, in East Flanders. I want to clarify to all that it is correctly spelled Kaprijke, and the sister town is Lembeke.

My VanVoorens came from St Laureins, more likely in the late 1880's, but info is sketchy. My verdick relatives were from Kaprrijke (one of many spellings used in the records on this side of the ocean).

Jon, I think you and I must be related. Ferdinand and Philamena would have been my great great great grandparents, and I'm tracing it back through the Verdick line as well. I'm researching the family tree still, if you can recommend any more information I would sure appreciate it.
