Thank you for your message about the family GUNS.

I am researching the Guns who are of my family tree.
Le last ancestor I have is:
Joanna Guns born 8 Nov 1780 at a Hulpe,Brabant,Belgium, she died on 15 Feb 1842 in Overijse, Brabant. She married Pierre
(Peter) Van Obbergen in Overijse on 20 Nov 1805.

She is the daugther of Joannes Baptista Guns and Maria Van Eycke.
If you can, would you please give more informations about
Joannes Baptista and his genealogy.

I will greatly appreciate your help. Thank you for your time.

Hello,
I am desperately trying to find any information on my great-grandparents, the Goossens from Gilly, Belguim. Would you perchance have any information on Jean Baptiste Goossens (born around 1885) and Lilvain or possibly Silvain Goossens (died 11 April 1912).

Regretfully I do not have any information on families from that region. The Goossens families I have encountered have come only from the region of Huldenburg and the surrounding villages. Sorry I cannot provide any assistance.

Thomas, I would be really interested in the infomation you have on the Guns family. My grandmother was Caroline Vandenhuvel grandfather Jerome Mommaerts from Green Bay and I know her ancesters were Guns. I know my aunt has some research, but I'm not sure it goes back as far as your research.
Thanks
Pat

Hi Thomas Jewett, I realize this posting is over 8 years old but I have just found this site. I have had great frustration finding any information on my Flemish Brabant ancestors. I read with great interest the possibility of finding some information about the DeBeckers (now DeBaker) & Bauwens (now Bawin.) I also would like to know how you were able to gather this information since I will need to do more research on many more surnames. I am 100% Belgian ancestry although my relatives arrived in the mid-1800's.
Is it still possible to receive a copy of this work mentioned in your Feb 2005 posting? Thanks! Donna Gillis Hollister

Hi Teena,
Have you tried contacting the Belgian archives? They might be able to help. I believe the address is 65 rue Tanneurs....but I'm not 100% sure of that. They have the census information going back to at least the time of Napolean. Dekeyser is a Belgian name, but before 1830 Belgium was part of France.

Good Luck!

Hello Thomas. I saw a post in the ancestry.com message boards about your paper/research on the genealogy of the Brabant area of Belgium. I see at least one name from my tree in your listing and would love to see the document. Are you still willing to share it? If so, can you please send a copy? My email is joepigeon@wi.rr.com

Thanks,
