my grandmother was Matilda Mary (Theresa) Degeeter, she married Willam Hartkopp. She lived in Charles City IA but moved to Aurora IL where she passed away after many strokes in the early 70's.

My original post was an attempt to see if anyone could help us trace down Alphonse DeGeeter's Belgian lineage. The man has proven very elusive. Any insight you might have would be greatly appreciated.

yes i would love to share info offline. i won't be much help finding Alphonse but i'd like to find out as much as i can so i can document it for my kids. they don't care much now but they will after i'm gone.
