Yes, please I am very interested as I can't find anything on the Vanhauwe family. I only know his name and approximate birth date. I have sent away for death certificate but haven't gotten it yet. Any help would be great. Thanks, Joyce Please email me-- JoyceGS55@att.net

My grandfather's name was Edward Staelens. He came to USA about 1913 from Belgium. Do you know is your grandfather had any brothers or cousins? Edward married Hortense Van Hauwe and they had 3 daughters. The youngest being my mother. Please email me so we can compare. JoyceGS55@att.net JGS

HI I just came accross this message as I am also researching The Staelens Family of Michigan. My Great Grandfather was Theophiel Emil Staelens who married Edith Jeanette Jones, I am The Granddaughter of Charles Staelens SR. Is this possibly the same line you refered to? IF so do you have any information on Staelens beyond Theophiel?. My Grandmother said he came to America abt 1914 with his Father , but did not know his name. Thanks
Brandi (Staelens) Jenkins

I came across some information-I hope it helps somebody. My Grandmother was Hortense Van Hauwe and married Edward Staelens. I just found a death card for a Julius Malbranke born Jan. 2, 1873 Belgium died May 22, 1948 in Lansing, Michigan. He was a roomer at my grandmothers house. So most likely all name I'm entering are Belgium. The Casket Bearers are: Charles Sargeant, Edmund Denameth , Herman Van Hee, Oscar Delange,Achiel Martin, Emil Claweart. I have the funeral book and it is signed by several names I have never heard of. If interested email JoyceGS55@aol.com
