I'm trying to find an address and phone number for the inheritance court or probate court that would handle the estate for a person who died in Anderlecht in 1978, and his wife who died in 2007 in Sint-Jans-Molenbeek. Jean Francois {Francis} Lengele, born about 1831 or 1833 probably at Tourinnes St. Lambert, married about 1853 in Belgium, emigrated to Wisconsin about 1858. are there any Lengele persons in the parish of St. Lambert, or persons named Leonard in the parish records from 1800-1840 ?

I am related to the Brasseur surname from Philippe Brasseur, born 1625 thru Adele Brasseur, born 1842 in Wasmes, Belgium. I have no links to the Brasseur's migrating to Canada but you are welcome to look at my family tree to see if there is any family members that may be related. I do not speak French, unfortunately, so I looked up 'dit': "Dit" in French means "say" and in this context, it means "called." In other words, a person might be Pierre Bourbeau dit Lacourse, which means that he had an ancestor named Bourbeau, but he chooses to use the name Lacourse instead. So he is Pierre Bourbeau called Lacourse.

So, now I am also researching "Brasseur" as my uncle (has passed) but did tell me that he vaguely remembered that his father came from Belgium. So, now I am curious how they may have got from Belgium to St. Charles, Ontario, Canada!

The surname Wys is very rare. My father, son of Adelina Wys-Vila says that there are only about 100 people with the family due to the fact that the original family name was Watts. The family helped the King of England and were then dubbed Wys. So, there Watts and Wys are the same family in actuality. My grandmother was born in England but moved to Puerto Rico as a child with her family, she was born 1904 and dies 2000.

I am interested in the Delcorde family. Arthur Delcorde, born in Belgium (where??) married Elizabeth Langhendresse. They had 4 sons and 1 daughter. they were born in Leuven. They came to Canada in Arthur 1892 and the rest of the family in 1896. They lived in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I would appreciate anything that you have on where Arthur was born and something about his family. I have nothing on him. He even disappeared after 1909. Thanks you

My great grandfather's name was Arthur Delcorde. He is from Belgium married to Elizabeth Langhendries. They had 5 children, Arthur, Jeanne, Eugene, Edmond and Emile. They came to Canada in 1892 and 1896. Arthur married my grandmother. I have nothing on the Delcorde when they were in Belgium except that Jeanne was born in Brussels and Edmond and Emile were born in Leuven. Would you have his grandfather and great grandfather's name and where they were born, and dated? Much appreciated. Thanks

I have known a Robert Oversteegen from Eindhoven and his wife - he was a neighbour. He was an artist (painter/sculptor) - died some years ago. His wife died earlier.

I did meet one of his sons (I do think his name was Bertrand, I'm not sure)

By the way, your message was published on the "Brabant-Walloon" message board - that is the French-speaking part of Belgium. But Eindhoven is in the Netherlands, and Dutch-speaking.

Thank you for answering me. I have no idea where the Cplmants came from before they moved to Idaho, USA. There was a family of them in the Ferdinand or Craigmont area in Idaho county, Idaho, USA on a census, but I didn't know if they were connected To Jennie and Helen. They probably were but couldn't prove it. Before Mabel died she mentioned she had been contacted by the Colmants in Europe, but I thought she said France. Thank you for your response. The only info I have on my Colmant relatives are from the years 1752 - 1930 and they reside in various parts of Belgium. Jean Joseph Colmant, is the 1st Colmant that I have found relating to my family genealogy. Do you have or know if Helen and Jennie's roots come from Belgium?

Helen and Jennie Colmant lived in the White Bird area of Idaho County, Idaho, USA. Jennie m. a Roberts and lived for awhile near Denver (now extinct village) near Grangeville, Idaho, Idaho, USA. Helen m. a Dumecq and lived near Joseph, Idaho , Idaho, USA. When Jennie died , her daughter, Margaret Louise or Louise Margaret was raised by Helen and her husband.
Margaret or "Maggie", as she was known, m.1st to a Hardin and 2nd m. Jacob Ephraim Holbrook. She had Mabel Retta and a son by Hardin. By "Eph" Holbrook, she had more children--one was called Pearl. Have you heard of this branch of Colmant?
Mabel and Pearl were close friends of mine, and I would like to give their genealogy to Pearl's daughter, "Dolly". She doesn't do this type of work. I nearly married Mable's only son, so you can see how close we were. Thank you. Iris Seyfried grandmairis1@yahoo.com

My grand father and his parents were living in farciennes. My grand father was named René Zicot (probably born in 1916...) as my great grand father. Perhaps Adrien was my great great grand father?
my grand father had two sisters ( Marthe and Rachel) and a brother(died young and had two children: Daniel and Anne). My father is Michel Zicot born in 1943 (3 girls: Anne françoise, Emmanuelle and Catherine).
If you need precisions or corrections I can ask my grand mother who has such an exceptionnal memory of dates.

Michel, Thank you for the correction. I looked at the FHC microfilms of Farciennes civil records & found the marriage of Marie Francoise & Adrien, but none of the births for any of their children. They should have been on the film because the film spanned the time frame of the births. Do you know of any way I can find the birth records for Adrien's children with M. Francoise? Do you know if they lived near Leopold & M. Sylvie? Could they have moved to Marcinelle (where Adrien's mother died) or to Chatelineau where another brother lived (& died in 1855)? Whatever help you can give would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks again,

One mistake in my former message : Marie Sylvie is the Christian name of the sister of your ancestor Marie Françoise.
Your ancestor is born in 8/10/1836 also in Farciennes.
They married two brothers : Léopold and Andrien ZICOT.
Marie Sylvie CROM and Léopold Joseph ZICOT are the ancestors of my children.

I am descended from Isidore & Frances Dave's youngest child - Maria Juliana. She was my grandmother.
I live in the greater Milwaukee (Wisconsin) area & have done extensive research in Green Bay. I would be happy to compare info on the family. Perhaps we can complete the tree between us!!

I am interested in the ancestors of Isidore & Marie Francoise in Belgium. Have you done any research on them?
Have you been able to find Isidore & Frances's passage(s) to the USA? Have you found their marriage record?
Were you aware that Francis was married before she married Isidore? Or that she had children from that 1st marriage - only SOME of whom came here?

The name "Voents" does not exist !
It probably is not the right spelling of his name. (e.g. Voets exists).
If you have the exact spelling it will be possible to trace this man. Do you have a regiment or a place where he stayed?

Emile was the son of François Nerinckx (Hal 1821 - Hal 1869) and Fanny van Cutsem.
François was the son of Henri Joseph Nerinckx (Hal 1771-1827) and Marie Thérèse van Cutsem (Saintes 1788 - Hal 1860).
Henri Joseph was the son of Philippe Joseph Nerinckx (Hal 1742 - Bruxelles 1826) and Barbe Joséphine De Leeman (1745 - Bruxelles 1826).
Philippe Joseph was the son of Gulliam Nerinckx, etc...and so on...
My great great great grandfather married Anne Catherine Nerinckx, sister of your ancestor Henri Joseph Nerinckx.
Fanny was the only daughter of your ancestor Emile Nerinckx. He had a brother who had children, but only daughters have had children, the family names were early 1920s, Dussaussoy and Ghilain.
The family Nerinckx is very large, just taking into account the great grand children of Philippe Joseph Nerinckx, they are 73, and that is the generation of my grand-parents...

I have Zicot ancestors too. And since it's such a rare name in Belgium and from that same locale they're definitely related. My widowed g-g-g-grandmother Marie Zicot (b ~1798)came to Green Bay Wisc area in 1855 with her daughter Cecile Josse and son-in-law Francois Martin from near Perwez (Petit Rosierre) I have more Zicot info, but nothing on descendents you listed
