I have Godefroid Guenne married to Marguerite Rosi with children born 1712 to 1733 in Opprebais including my ancestor Marie Joseph who married Laurent Melotte. Sorry nothing later to fit in to your time period as I did not follow Marie's siblings

Although your post was years ago, I thought I'd give this a shot anyway. I have an ancestor named Eugene Joseph Hanset, b. 1828 in Opprebais. I believe he died in 1889. I have been unable to identify his parents or even siblings. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated.

Wow, that sounds really promising! Unfortunately, I don't have anything in my records that would verify a match. I believe he was married to Josephine Previnaire (b. 1834, d. 1896), marriage would have been before 1860. My ancestor was their 3rd child, Emile Joseph Hanset (b. 7 Feb 1861). I know this is asking a lot of you, so if you have a way to simply refer me to records, that would be great, too.

I got my info from the Mormon tapes for Opprebais. I did not search the more recent generations on that line but found that there were a variety of spellings Hanset, Hancet, Anset,Ancet and only sorted them by comparing all the records on each one and their siblings by generation to be sure I had the right connections.Hope this helps you

This is very helpful, I hadn't considered such different alternate spellings.
