I found a document from a family member claiming my great-grandfather Herbert Cullen Gow along with a sibling (who died as a young child) were born in Brazil. No one knows if this is true. I've checked a lot of the baptism records in Rio de Janeiro but so far no luck. Also no records of them leaving or entering Canada so I'm pretty stumped.
What I'm curious about is if anyone knows why Canadians would have been immigrating to Brazil, or South America for that matter, in the late 1890s. Any knowledge is helpful.
