I believe that is my Karl....what I've been working on recently is trying to go back and fill in as much info, and get as much confirmation as possible by matching up places and dates with the places/dates he put on the US documents I have for him.
My US Karl used a birthdate of 11 Dec 1881 (or sometimes Sept 1881) which doesn't exactly match the 23 Dec of the Swedish Karl Bergman I've been researching (with the much appreciated help of many people here on the boards!) but is pretty darn close,, birthplace of Ramdala, and on his petition for naturalization states that his last place of residence in Sweden was Otenby, and he emigrated from Kalmar. Arrived in Philadelphia 1 Feb 1901 on the Pennland (I think he was estimating....the ship manifest I have says April....however his father opened an account to purchase his ticket in Feb 1901, so maybe that's what he was thinking of 43 years later when filling out his petition). His death certificate lists no mother, but states his father was John Bergman, who I believe to be Sven Johan Bergman (stepfather). His marriage certificate lists a home address at which I can place John and Ester Bergman on the 1910 US census.
Out of curiosity, do you all think this is enough to call it a match, or are some of the mismatched dates (birthdate, arrival date) enough to be a problem?
