Hi,

I'm trying to find any Swedish records for Nils or Nels Peter Johansen, born 6 NOV 1851 somewhere in Sweden. I have his marriage record, married 26 OCT 1877 in Norway. Wife is Anna Stina Romberg, born 1 JUL 1857 in Blomskog, Värmland. His father, according to marriage record, is Johan Johannesen.

I've tried the following to locate Nels Peter Johansen in Sweden:

1. Looked for his birth record in wife's parish and 44 other parishes in the area, especially on the border with Norway.

2. Checked Emihamn & Emibas databases

3. Checked Regional databases: ddss.nu, plf oskarshamn CDs

4. Checked familysearch.org, rootsweb, google and bing.

5. Checked SVAR's partial 1870 & 1860 Census databases.

5. Checked Disbyt database.

On the US side, his obit just gives Sweden as birth place and no other documents I can find lists anything other than Sweden. His funeral was held in a church in South Dakota, but the Swenson Center's online catalog doesn't list the church in their inventory of records.

Any suggestions?
