Hi,

I'm looking for information on Carl Peter Olson, his parents are Olof Persson and Lisa Olsdatter and he was born 29 June 1838 in Gunnarskog, Varmland, Sweden. That is all I know about where he was born or his parents.

He married twice but I am interested in his second marriage. He married 14 Nov 1870, Julia Johansdatter and together with his son (with her) Anton Julius and a son (by his first wife) Ole Gustave they came to America arriving first in Quebec 22 May 1871, having left Norway 15 April 1871. I know that Carl and Julia had three more children before he seemingly disappears and Julia is a widow (or so the census record says) by 1880. She is married by the 1900 census and has several more children with her second husband Fred A. Ring. The family story was that Fred Ring had changed his name from Oleson to Ring, but the marriage record of Carl Peter and Julia dispute that and I no longer believe that to be the case. It seems that Carl Peter may have left his family because Julie's first four sons, Anton, Albert (my ancestor), James and Martin took the surname RING as their own and that's how the family has always known them.

Any information or suggestions where to find information would be greatly appreciated since this is the last part of this particular line that I haven't been able to trace back very far.
