The Husförhör record for Kalmar, Virserum 1872-1876 (AI:17 p451, GID 185.5.41900) indicates that Gustaf and his son Peter traveled to America in 1872. They are listed on the same page as moving to America in 1874. The Utflyttning record for Kalmar, Virserum (1861-1875, B11:1 Image 29, GID 185.52.5500) shows Gustaf and family (2 adults, 6 children) leaving on May 13, 1874. A passenger list for the ship Rollo on 22 May 1874 shows Gustaf's wife Kristina and five children heading for Jamestown, NY.
Gustaf was born 4Feb1838, Christina (Kristina) was born 29Jun1831.
Family lore says Gustaf came to America early and then returned to Sweden to bring the family to America.
I have not found any record of the travels of Gustaf or his son Peter August.
Questions -
Did Gustaf and Peter come to America in 1872 (probably July or August)?
Did he return to Sweden in 1874 to bring his family back to America?
What ship did they travel on from Liverpool to NY?
I have not found any records of them arriving in America but assume it was thru New York.
