Once again I am in your debt for the wealth of information in your post. I have been researching on ancestry. com for almost two years now. I will go through my "shoebox" and locate what I feel might be pertinent information to post. Please give me a few days, as I have a 93 year-old mother that I conserve who needs my attention right now. By the way, I am not even sure that John was his first name, as he signed his three letters "J. William Hanson." However, I did find a number of John Hanson and William Hanson's in the gold fields either registering to vote and a civil war veterans pension register. I also have a picture found with the three letters written to Francis Ethel Hanson, his youngest daughter. I think the photo is of Hanson. I will get these together and post. I went to the El Dorado Museum and found his name in the hospital register in Placerville which I will post as well. Please, my gratitude for your help.. patty galvan
