My father was Matt Arthur Aijala 1931-1994 born in Minnesota USA, his father was Matti Aijala 1886-1961 born Ransila Finland, his father was Albert Matinpoika (son of Matti) Aijala 1860-1934 born in Rantsila, his father Matti Mikonpoika Harju 1828-1884 born Rantsila, his father Mikko Juhonpoika Harju born 1784 and I believe there was a name change Savaloja or Eskola because his father was Juho Marttipoika Eskola 1748-1802, his father Martti Juhonpoika Eskola born 1724 and then his father Juho Iisakinpoika Nefwala born 1694. I had some old papers of my grandfather and did some research on the internet. Kind of confusing as I was told that when the Finns moved they took on the name of the house or farm they moved to?
