How do I lookup confirmements in Oppland county for both mae & women? Also women confirments confirments in Buskurd county. I was once sent confirments for Men only in Eiker 1839-1859. I was able to locate the 3 men I was looking for. Now however, I am in need of both men & women in Oppland & Buskurd. Can someone send me a site. I will need to cover most of the 1800's. Confirmations of young men and women are recorded in the parish record books. This event usually happened between the ages of 14 and 20 - but occasionally as a grown adult.

The whole Men and Women thing can be confusing.

Some parishes just recorded men and women all together, mixed.
Some parish record books have the men at the top half of the page, and the women at the bottom half.
Some Parish record books have a couple of pages of the men, and then a couple of pages of the women.

Just keep turning the page, and you will figure out what the method was that a certain parish used.

thank you much for your advise. I was able to find my female ancester's confiment, still looking for the male ancester. I am sure with time and patiance I will find him. I believe that in the 1800's everyone was required to complete the rite of confirmment. It wasn't as hard as I anticipated and there are not really that many listed yearly. Thank you agian. Maye B-T
