Terjei Terjeison Hastvedt and his wife Ragnhild Nikolaisdatter Hastvedt are buried in the Perry Lutheran Church Cemetery, Daleyville, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA. They were married May 21, 1839 in Giovdal, Aust-Agder, Norway. Terje was born about 1822 in Norway and Ragneld was born July 21, 1816 and christened July 29, 1816 in Giovdal, Aust-Agder, Norway. Their sons Nere, Tergei, and Nicklai settled in Texas as Nere, Tom, and Nick Hastings. My husband's ggrandfather was Nere. He is buried in the Norse Community near Cranfills Gap and Clifton, Texas. My husband's brother is planning a trip to Norway within the next year and we would love for him to trace the steps of his ancestors. Any information about this family would be greatly appreciated. Family stories have Terjei's father as Tergei Nerison, his mother as Bergitte Tellefsdatter Oy, and his brothers and sisters as Neri, Aslak, Tellef, Jorgen, and Signe Terjeison from the Amli Parish, Telemark, Norway. Jorgen died on the trek from New Orleans, Louisiana, USA up the Mississippi River and is buried in Milam, Louisiana. Signe returned to Norway, as she was dissatisfied with America, and inherited the family farm (Hastvedt). I have been unable as to this date to verify some of this family history information, and sometimes information passed from one generation to another loses a little in the process, right? Any help in our search would be greatly appreciated.
