I am Janet Smith. Granddaughter of Anders Anderson, he emigrated to the US in the late 1890's or early 1900's. I have the date but can't get to it right now...He settled in Marine City, Michigan. He was from the Tonsberg area. His father was Hans Andersen. He had a brother Haakon Ingwardo and Hagbart Andersen. Hagbart died at Sea in 1909. Haakon became a missionary for the Norwegian Evangelical Mission and changed his name to Haakon Ingwardo...dropped the Andersen. He was Married to Anna, I do not have her maiden name. They had five children. Elsa, Randi, Oslang, Olav and Bjarne. Oslang died in 1974. My mother made contact with and visited Anna and her cousins in the early 1970's. Bjarne and his wife Sigrun visited us in the states in 1972. We have lost contact with them and I am looking for them. Bjarne and Sigrun had four children in the early 1970's. They were Torgon, Rita, Knut and Stiener, I believe. I have letters that were translated by Aslang, husband Tormod. I have addresses for Bjarne, Olva and Tormad from 1973-1976 time frame. What is the likelyhood that they are still valid addresses. They do not seem to have street names or numbers. The Ingwardo/Andersen family also had a residence in Grimstad, may have been a summer home. Any information would be appreciated. I am hoping that someone in the Norwegian side of the family is interested in Genealogy too.
Thanks,
Janet Smith
